Face painting setup

You also need tiny-tipped painting brushes and sponges to aid in the painting process. You require a minimum of three brushes each for black, white and colour paints respectively. They will be crucial in preventing colours from mixing while doing the painting. The sponges will also be valuable in cleaning the brushes after use. You require some water to mix the paints.

The water will also help the person doing the painting to clean the brushes. Any cup that can hold sufficient water can do. You also require a mirror that should be positioned where children can see themselves as the painting happens. Glitters add style to face painting. Your painting kit will not be complete without the inclusion of a cosmetic grade non-toxic glitter.

I live in England , Summer Fetes can be cold. Hello All, I always start of clean. I purchase water well that gives you clean water every time you push the button.

I have had last up to 3 hours then just change water and you good for other 3 hours. Also I lay out a napkin in front of me where I may lay down brushes or just wipe to clean brush and change it out threw out the day. Also I will break for a 2 min for a quick sip of water and re- organized of brush order and paint. Quick tip I use black and white the most so those are in front at all times.

I hope this was helpful. Thanks, Amber x. I wanted to know about how much is the cost of liability insurance and where can I get it? Any info would be helpful! If you live in the USA you can contact Ashely at They carry the best liability insurance policy for face painters and other entertainers and they are really nice to deal with.

Hi, thanks for showing us your set-up station. This gets emptied into a small bucket under my table and I refill the shot glass with clean water from a ml bottle on my table. I never leave paint on my brushes or sponges from the last client either. I rinse them in the bucket under the table, so then I rinse again in the shot glass, this water stays mostly clean and there are just two buckets under there, One for client water and for rinsing brushes and one for rinsing my fingers.

Clean hands are a must! Also I have wet wipes for those foody faces which goes into a plastic bag under the table and a clean towel on my knee to wipe my hands after a quick dip in the bucket under my table and a waterless hand sanitiser if needed on the table in full view. I ask the parent to wipe snotty noses with a wet wipe.

I use a clean rinsed sponge for each client too! Hope this helps someone else. Thanks for some new ideas. The small glass with clean water for each client is a great idea. Of course, I always have hand sanitizer and wet wipes. I also use a small spray bottle filled with alcohol and I spray my hands between each client. That helps people be more comfortable about cleanliness on my part.

Thanks for the wonderful comments on set-up. Younger children seem to have a hard time making decisions about what colors they want sometimes and that holds up the face painting process. If you have ever painted at an event that busy you know sometimes you have lines 40 and 50 people deep and the lines do not get any shorter.

I recently painted an event with TWO painters, and we collectively painted faces in 3. It was high volume, high stress, and we barely had time to change our water! I am still a professional, I am still safe and careful, but sometimes, it happens.

Did people pass up our booth over it? Did over business cards fly off the table? Yup they sure did. Of course, make every effort to keep your setup looking clean and tidy, I know I do.

I loved this!!!! It mad me laugh because it set the record straight. On super busy events, it may help if you brought a friend along to tidy your table, change water, keep kids in line with their face design chosen, handing out business cards and possibly taking over a few minutes while you have a break. In side this brief case I keep 33 colors of snazaroo paint secured into the pallet with velcro for replacement , about twelve different brushes three for each range of colors , a small plastic-framed mirror, 50 or so re-usable washable sponges, business cards, a black table cloth, thin fabric wash cloths for cleaning my brushes, and a stack of laminated design sheets for the kids to look at.

When I get to the event, I set up the chairs and the table and drape the table cloth over it. Most face painting supplies can be purchased online. We recommend for you to check out these shops:.
