The version linked in this post is definitely a crack. The best Sounddiver version is v3. I find old but working hardware everywere and at least ebay for cheap. Anyway,- I occasionally buy and collect old computers to have the option running Sounddiver and other "vintage" software, which is great for some purposes. SD v3. Lengeling became a Apple director and Apple discontinued SD. Comparable story to Gibson bought Opcode.

I've tried multiple midi interfaces and midi cables with the same results. Have you seen any of this behavior? Thanks Monte. Attached Thumbnails. Here's what my setup looks like. I'd make sure those check boxes are ticked for Patch thru. You can also use the Midi Monitor to see what's happening when you send a patch. What version of Wine are you using? I ran into issue with Wine 2. I'd start there. The kind of weirdness you're describing where some of it works and some doesn't seems like a thru issue with Wine.

I think. I did have to run the SoundDiverAuthoriser. Reminder to myself If it wants the cd, run this first and wait a little bit.

It takes awhile to get going and then choose Authorize. Wine 5. Try that. I know SD has a strange way regarding fonts. I was told by Michael Hayden to try other fonts, it required a change to a setup file somewhere.

It was 20 years ago, brain getting fuzzy. New option "Over wide entry names" handles display of entry names in device windows which don't fit in the column width: "Show clipped" -- the name is cut off at the right border.

This is the behavior before version 3. This is the behavior of versions 3. New option "Entry name width scaling" default: allows you to modify the width of device window columns. This value is automatically increased if option "Over wide entry names" is set to "Auto adjust width scaling". Guys, Thanks for the response and suggestions. Unfortunately I'm running a Windows version of SD on a Mac in a Wine wrapper and there's a well documented bug that any attempt to open SD preferences immediately crashes wine.

I've played around with the timeout setting and send pause setting in the device editor but that doesn't seem to have any effect on loading banks. Both the font issue and the checksum error while loading patches seem to be device specific. The K doesn't suffer from the font issue and the M1R doesn't suffer from the patch loading checksum errors.

I'm more concerned with getting the Kawai KR working as best I can as it's way more laborious to program than the simplicity of the Korg M1R. Essentially I can't load whole banks from the K I can load individual patches by double clicking on a slot and while I get the checksum error 9 times out of 10 if I just hit abort or 'retry' 5 or 6 times it will load the patch. Is the checksum error a verification thing? All things considered the K does work and I'm able to edit patches which is the most important thing.

The issue I would still love to fix is that the k it won't change patches as I select them in SD. It will change between banks A and D but the patch always remains on the first slot of each bank. The M1 changes patches no problem even though the fonts are a mess. I'm amazed that SD is working at all and it's surprisingly fast. Such a great program! Thanks again! The preferences all seem to be stored in their own format, in a. PRF file, so you'd probably have to change options using the menus.

Maybe people's initials? I haven't looked at it for a while, but I'm guessing here's a menu option for "Over wide entry names" and it defaults to one that isn't working well. I'm not sure why anyone would mess with Wine to run SoundDiver.

It's responsible for all the annoying bugs in SoundDiver annoying "text not found" alert, not being able to access preferences, not changing programs, not loading programs, jumbled program text. After messing with Wine for a good week I decided to give Parallels a try.

SoundDiver works great running on Windows 10 in Parallels. All the bugs are gone and its fully functional. The only downside is you have to pay 80 bucks for Parallels but I'm happy to foot that bill if I can use SoundDiver. The issue here is that there are no Unitor 8 drivers for Windows 10, so I decided to try to install Windows in Parallels. After jumping through a lot of hoops I was finally successful.

I downloaded the Bootdisks from bootdisk. I found a Windows Professional Install Disk iso online and authorization code. I also found the Unitor 8 drivers online.
